An article I read about "high efficiency" solar panels that could convert 34% of the light that hits them to energy. I infer that eventually solar panels will convert over 90% of the light to energy. Machines can't have an efficiency higher than 99%. What surprised me the most was that Semprius, the company who made the solar cells made $44 million. Any future possibilities include the solar panel getting direct sunlight. If you look at the list from 2009, you will find that some of those technologies which were new then are being used now. One example of these is software defined networking. In my opinion, these solar cells should have at leasst 70% efficiency in direct sunlight.
